On May 15 this year, the XXXVII GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MEMBERS OF THE POLISH CHAMBER OF TOURISM took place at the Gromada Centrum Hotel in Warsaw
The Assembly was a true celebration of the tourism industry – an opportunity for conversations in a broader group, exchange of views, sharing current problems, and meetings with experts, government representatives, local authorities, and the media.
The meeting began with an opening word addressed to the PIT members by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, Mr. Piotr Borys. In his speech, he presented data indicating that the year 2025 could be a breakthrough for Polish tourism. Additionally, he shared current information about the work of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism on the Tourism Development Strategy and regional and sectoral sub-strategies.
After the Minister's speech, the meeting was officially opened by the President of the Polish Chamber of Tourism, Mr. Paweł Niewiadomski. Then, on behalf of the host – OST Gromada – guests were welcomed by the President Krzysztof Moczulski. In his speech, he emphasized that Gromada, as a member of the Polish Chamber of Tourism, highly values the Chamber's activities for the development of the tourism industry and the protection of the interests of the entire sector.
In the further part of the speech, the President noted that Gromada observes with satisfaction the new forms of activity of the Polish Chamber of Tourism – both at the national and regional levels – undertaken for the promotion of inbound tourism. He also emphasized that this year's February Fam Trip for offices from the PIT Inbound Tourism Department, organized at Gromada hotels, has already brought concrete cooperation inquiries.
At the end, the President appealed both to the Chamber's authorities and representatives of the administration responsible for Polish tourism to undertake actions aimed at sustainable management of tourist traffic. He pointed out the need to direct traffic also to lesser-known regions, which will allow their development and at the same time relieve the most popular tourist destinations.
Next, the floor was given to: on behalf of the President of the Polish Tourism Organization – Managing Director Teresa Buczak, on behalf of the Marshal of the Masovian Voivodeship – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Promotion and Tourism for tourism and marketing, Ms. Izabela Stelmańska, as well as invited Ambassadors.
The General Assembly of the Polish Chamber of Tourism aimed to summarize the activities carried out in 2024, set directions for actions for the upcoming months of 2025, and work together on the development of Polish tourism.
