On the 20th of this month, a meeting/ceremony organized by the Marshal of the Association of Polish Parliamentarians, Prof. Jerzy Jaskiernia – a politician, lawyer, scholar, former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, took place at the Gromada Centrum Hotel in Warsaw. During the meeting, there was an official presentation of the book; “I think I have been well remembered by people. The Memorial Book of Jerzy Szmajdziński” edited scientifically by Prof. J. Jaskiernia. The book contains memories of 33 politicians, generals, and friends about Jerzy Szmajdziński – a student and youth activist, a top-level politician – deputy, Minister of National Defense, head of the parliamentary club, but above all a good colleague, a man who tragically died in the Smolensk plane crash in 2010. Beautiful words about the hero were spoken by the former President Aleksander Kwaśniewski, who was present at the ceremony, movingly by his wife Małgorzata Sekuła Szmajdzińska (currently a Senator of the Republic of Poland), and their son.
The meeting, which gathered a large group of former and current politicians, diplomats, lawyers, scholars, and military representatives, was at the same time a celebration of Prof. J. Jaskiernia, who celebrates his name day on April 23rd.
