On the days of September 30 - October 1, 2023, the nationwide celebrations of the World Tourism Day took place with the participation of Polish tourism authorities: Minister of Sport and Tourism - S. Nitrasa, Deputy Minister P. Borys, President of the Polish Tourism Organization - R. Szmytke, officials from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, and the beautiful Toruń.
In the speeches by representatives of the authorities, excellently led by Director J. Grus from POT, the panels and discussions of industry representatives dominated topics related to the strategy and development of Polish tourism, increasing funding for the development and promotion of tourism, and support for tourist facilities affected by floods. One of the most important declarations made by Minister of SiT - S. Nitrasa and subsequently specified by Secretary of State P. Borys was the announcement of introducing a tourist fee and allocating the funds thus obtained for the POT-ROT-LOT system for the development and promotion of Polish tourism. We are talking about a significant amount of 600 million PLN.
The nationwide celebrations of World Tourism Day were attended by representatives of Gromada, including President K. Moczulsky, the President's advisor - Dr. A. Zaborowski, and Director of Hotel Gromada in Toruń - J. Moczulską. This provided an opportunity to establish new contacts and conduct discussions, among others, with Deputy Minister P. Borys, President of POT - R. Szmytke, Vice President of POT - M. Wilk-Grzywną – POT Director - J. Grus and J. Janowski, member of the authorities of the Association of Polish Community - J. Korsak, President of WIG - M. Traczyk, President of the Employers' Association of Tourism Lewiatan - J. Rataj.
On the second day of the World Tourism Day celebrations, a group of participants visited Hotel Gromada as part of a tour of the Old Town of Toruń, where the director presenting the hotel informed about its history dating back to the times of M. Copernicus.
