Gromada at the Nationwide Celebration of World Tourism Day in Augustów
On September 23, Augustów hosted nationwide talks on tourism's future. Industry, government, local authorities, and tourism groups from across Poland participated.
The first part of the meeting covered strategic directions for Poland's tourism development through 2035, the health of the tourism economy, regional potential, nature conservation, and the role of national parks in shaping tourism offerings.
Afternoon panels focused on using sports and sporting events to promote destinations and develop cycling tourism. Discussions highlighted the importance of combining attractive offers, good communication, and cooperation among many groups to build Poland's reputation as a tourist destination.
At an evening gala with the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and Polish Tourism Organization, Honorary Badges “For Merits to Tourism” were awarded to long-time contributors in Podlaskie tourism. The “Amber Splendor” award was given to the Higher School of Tourism and Ecology in Sucha Beskidzka, accepted by Dr. Bartłomiej Walas, Dean of Tourism and Recreation.
The OST Gromada delegation at the ceremony, invited by organizers, included Krzysztof Moczulski – President, Dr. Adam Zaborowski – Marketing and Promotion Advisor, and Michał Kolankiewicz – Director of Marketing and Sales Support.
Valuable meetings and talks took place with industry reps, local governments, and tourism bodies. Sharing experiences and discussions are key to better offers and promoting Poland and its regions.
