Attractions in the area

Łomża, located by the Narew River, together with the entire Łomżyńska Land, is in the area of the so called ‘Green Lungs of Poland’, one of the last areas in Europe with unspoiled nature and unique landscape values. It lies on an exceptionally beautiful bank, around unique marshlands with unique flora and fauna. From the south-east side, there is a nature reserve which boarders the city. It became the basis for creating Łomża Landscape Park of the Narew Valley. In a short distance from the city there are protected nature areas: Łomża Landscape Park of the Narew Valley, Biebrza National Park, Narew National Park. The specific natural environment is a perfect starting point for tourists. Attractive surroundings - proximity of parks and nature reserves, old tsarist forts in Piątnica, Open-air ethnographic museum of the Kurpie region in Nowogród, manor house of Lutosławski family and the Museum of Nature in Drozdowo, as well as the origins of the city dating back to the Middle Ages, encourage visiting.
